About Artist F. Wayne Taylor:

F. Wayne Taylor is a native of the Eastern Shore of Maryland and has been a fulltime professional artist since 1983.

He was a child prodigy, who started painting at four years old and produced full-scale paintings by the age of eight. He has little formal art training, and has developed his own styles and techniques over the course of his career.

The content of his work is widespread, from finely detailed waterfowl, other wildlife paintings, figurative compositions and Eastern Shore scenes. Whatever the content, his detailed realistic artistic style remains consistent. He uses both acrylics and oils to achieve his distinctive form of expression.

He continues to develop his art from inspiration of the beauty of the countryside where he lives and from his travels.

His work has been exhibited at the Ward Museum of Wildlife Art, Salisbury University, Jacob Javits Center, Southeast Wildlife Expo, NASA Space Telescope Science Institute, the State House in Annapolis, and many other venues.

He has also worked as a farmer, waterman, musician, and entrepreneur. He is a skilled builder and has built a gallery/studio adjacent to his 1917 home near Whitehaven, Md.,  which he and his son, Chad, have remodeled and restored.
